- What's the point of this?

krux.org is a site exclusively for the ramblings and amusement of Jeff Rosowski, a.k.a. Krux. And should someone else find this site as an excuse to waste ten or fifteen minutes of their time, all the better.

- So who are you?

Krux. This is my site. I'm a 33 year old computer geek in the true sense of the word. Professionally I'm a Network Engineer, currently working as the Sr. Network Engineer for Bechtel SAIC. It's true, I have "leet skiilz". Check out my resume. And of course there are pictures.

I'm quite into electronic toys. Mostly gadgetry like home stereo equipment, computers, digital cameras, networking equipment, etc.. I'd have more if it were not for bills, and the whole being laid off two times in a year thing.

I have quite a large library of technical manuals. Mostly on programming and Linux related stuff, but there are a few books on NT, Novell, Electronics, etc.. I also have a smaller but pretty cool section devoted towards fiction. Among my favorite books are Snowcrash and Cryptonomicron by Neil Stephenson, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, and The Cuckoo's Egg by Cliff Stoll, who currently is making Klein Bottles which you can buy over the internet. I have several including the klein stein.

Other geekly pastimes include web design, programming, and flame wars on my site THCNET. And of course there is case modding, which involves two passions, computers and power tools, into one fun filled activity. I also make spiffy PHP applications.

- How did you make this site?

The graphics were done with photoshop, the html code done with a text editor, and I use a custom PHP Application I wrote called THCNET as a backend that handles nitty gritty of putting it all together, keeping track of data, security, and making the site easily manageable. There are absolutely NO static HTML pages on this site, all the content management is done thru this program.
